HP or VCHP?
Which Would be Better for You?
Are you confused like many people whether to install HP or VCHP in your residential or commercial space? Let us elaborate which would be advantageous for you.
𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙋𝙪𝙢𝙥𝙨 (𝙃𝙋) extracts heat from a source such as surrounding air, geothermal energy stored in the ground, waste water heat and then amplifies and transfers it to where it’s needed. Unlike VCHP, it doesn’t speed up or down to increase or lessen the heating/cooling system. On the other hand, 𝙑𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙋𝙪𝙢𝙥𝙨 (𝙑𝘾𝙃𝙋) is a type of heat pump that 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘥𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘏𝘗.
Three major sources of heat energy used by VCHP are- air, water and ground sources. VCHP saves energy through part load efficiency and maintaining thermal mass. However, the installation being costly shouldn’t be a concern as it consumes less energy. Additionally, a load calculation should be done before installing any of the systems.
